Comic assignment

The students have been working on finding and communicating the main idea through a variety of texts.  They had a small assignment to create their own comic that represented one main commentary, message, lesson or theme.

Here is the rubric for this assignment, which will be marked on Thursday, January 25

Main idea/Style	The comic contains a thoughtful lesson style of humour is effective	The main idea is present yet predictable Style is mostly maintained	Main idea is present but difficult to identify or stated explicitly Attempt at maintaining the style	Does not contain a main idea no attempt at a consistent style
Representation	The main idea can be clearly understood the visual allow the reader to interpret the comic easily	The main idea is generally understood without explanation The visual are clear but could contain more cues/detail	The main idea can be understood but requires some explanation Visuals relate but may cause some confusion	Unclear main idea Messy visuals which make communication difficult
